Time to get Organized by Aly!

I am the most unorganized person ever. Although I can get 20,000 things done in one day and I swear, I can, it does not mean it gets done neatly or in an organized fashion. Greg, on the other hand, neat freak. He will spend half the day on Sunday cleaning out the garage and making sure everything is in perfect order. You can eat off the floor in my garage, no joke. It is not that I don’t want things to be neat and organized, I am just not good at it. Things will be put away nicely and in 20 minutes the mess somehow reappears. What can I say, it’s not my strong suit.

After Greg bugging me nonstop about how he wished the kitchen was organized, he wished the kids closets were organized, he wished the whole house was organized. I decided I was hiring somebody to do it. Not only do I not have a minute to pee, the thought of organizing, p-touching and spending hours organizing seemed awful to me. I figured it would be worth the investment.  Two people were recommended to me, one by me and one in the city. Both equally great, I decided to go with the local gal since she was close and it is always great to support local business.

I met with Aly from Organized by Aly for a consultation. Although I needed the entire house organized, I thought we would start with the two biggest projects, my closet and the kitchen.

My closet is a mess.

My pantry is an even bigger  MESS! So embarrassing I am even showing you this but you need to see what can happen with just a little help!

Aly told me she would set up a system to get me organized and declutter the items that were no longer serving me. She made a shopping list of all the items I would need to help my house get organized and told me she would be back in a few days.

Aly came back 2 days later with bags of pretty hangers, storage containers, plastic dividers, etc. She decided to do my closet first since it seemed to be the easier job of the two.

She sorted my closet, folded everything perfectly and I found clothing I forgot I even had!

I love the look of new, clean hangers. The wire hangers were just not cutting it anymore.

And my shoes!!! Finally, they all had a place! I wear a lot of heels. Being 5’2 comes with lots of disadvantages.

I made the mistake when I built my closet to create a space for my jewelry. I used to have it like this:

Aly was so smart and came up with a genius way to showcase it and make it readily accessible:

As for the kitchen, Aly brought her organizational skills to the table and really shaped up my cabinets. It’s amazing how much I just let things go. Looking at these before pictures are scary! Anyway, here is the beauty of Aly’s work….

My utensil drawer was a crazy mess:

Using some plastic dividers, Aly made better use of the space and created a much more manageable drawer!

If I have one regret since I renovated my home it would be that I never created a big kitchen pantry for all of my FOOD!

Remember that insane drawer at the beginning of my post…here’s a new look:

My cereal!

Aly placed all of my go-to breakfast items above my Vitamix which made the process of scrambling for my protein powder, flax seed, etc in the morning a breeze!

Lastly, what to do with all of the meds and vitamins in the kitchen?? Aly’s brilliant solution:

I love that they turn!

Aly did a fabulous job and I can’t wait to have her back next week to do the kids closets before school starts!!

I HIGHLY recommend her for all of your organizational needs. She is extremely professional, quick, reasonable and very talented!

Not only is her consultation FREE but anybody that hires Aly and mentions Lulu and Lattes will receive 10% off their entire invoice.
