For the Love of Newborns

If there is one thing I wish I could go back and do when I gave birth to  Zach and Parker it would have been to hire a newborn photographer. I think when I had kids a decade ago, newborn photographers were not a “thing”.  I had family pics taken but not the professional newborn pics you see on Facebook that have become so very popular.Recently I had someone ask me if I could refer them to someone who specialized in photographing newborns. Hmmm.

Newborn photographers are a special breed. They must LOVE babies, they must have a TON of patience and must have a gift to capture the most important moments in your family.  It definitely takes a unique and caring person with a lot of knowledge in this field. The wedding photographer is NOT the newborn photographer. Although there are a ton of multi-faceted photographers out there, you really want to hire someone whose passion is with “little ones”.

I started asking around and the same name kept coming up, Becca Kaye Photos. When enough people love and believe in the work of the same person, I have to assume she is pretty great. I called Becca and set up a meeting. I loved Becca the second I met her. Very down to earth, extremely nice and cool. She explained to me that her love was for newborns. She spends nearly four hours with them in their home during one photo shoot. Not only is she he photographer but she is part nanny – feeding, snuggling, and sometimes even changing diapers! She told me that babies must be 12 days old or YOUNGER!

and then she showed me some of her work! WOW!! newborn
