I know what the fox says
Zach came home from school a few weeks ago singing this song “What does the fox say?” I had no idea what he was singing because 1) I never heard it 2) I thought it was a joke and 3) I thought him and his friends made it up. He said to me “mom, you have to watch the video.” So I did…I have to imagine you have seen this, right?
After watching this video SEVERAL times, these are my thoughts:
1) This guy had to have been on major drugs when he wrote this song
2) If you changed the words and kept the tune, it would be a pretty great song
3) If you can write a song about a fox and it goes viral, anything IS really possible
4) The release of this song was perfect. Halloween. You can’t find a fox costume anywhere (Zach wanted to be the fox). They are all sold out, was $80, and is one of the most popular halloween costumes of 2013. Next year, I am positive, you will be able to buy a fox costume for $19.99 anywhere.
By the way, I have a fox that lives on and off in my backyard. I know exactly what the fox says:
The cry that comes out of a foxes mouth sounds like a woman being attacked in the middle of the night. The noise will wake you up in sheer terror. It is a sound you will never forget. That’s what a fox says!

OMG I can’t stand this song! I thought it was a joke until my kids showed me the video. When we were out to dinner the other night, the next table (not a kid in the group) spent about 15 minutes explaining the song, complete with the annoying sounds, to the one person at the table who hadn’t heard it.
Have you noticed that the song seems to say “what the fox say” after the first time or two? So, it sounds like “what the f*ck say” instead. My kids love that part…

You know – I have been avoiding watching this video for a long time, but you finally made me look! I watched about half, which was more than enough. I looked these guys up on Wikipedia – they are a Norwegian comedy duo – two brothers – so yes, it is a HUGE joke! I just don’t happen to find it funny!
