Apple Picking, Pumpkin Picking, so much to pick!
Tis’ the season of Apple & Pumpkin Picking! There are so many farms around here it is so hard to choose where to go. This year we did a little of each. Our first stop was Riamede Farm :
I think they have some of the best apple picking around. Riamede is great because it’s the perfect size for a family outing and you do not feel overwhelmed by the crowds of people. The day we went it was GORGEOUS!!! Riamede had a ton of different apples to pick:
We picked some beauties!
Next stop Pumpkin Picking! We went to Hillview Farms which is super close. It is in Chatham off of Meyersville Road.
The kids had a blast here!
The weather was chilly and I was so excited to wear my new sweater!! I found this line, LILLA P ,that has some of the best weekend wear ever! I LOVE their sweaters this season and everything is so well priced!! I also bought the sweater below. It was $148! Amazing price and I will live it in all winter!
Plus I got this super cute sweater!! ($162)
You definitely should check out their website or their store in the meat-packing district. The entire line is perfect casual wear that I promise you won’t take off all winter. They have the greatest white tank that you can wear under any sweater.
Back to the adventure…
We each picked a pumpkin…
Except Zach who ran off like the wind for donuts!!!
We went on a tractor ride
Pretended to ride a tractor:
and went home to carve some pumpkins, drink some pumpkin spiced lattes and eat some donuts!!
We bought some orange light bulbs and waited for the darkness….
Before I end this, I found some really cool Halloween ideas on Pinterest and thought I would share:
This is a great way to go healthy for Halloween considering how much junk our kids inhale in one day:
Banana Ghosts and Orange Pumpkins! How cute??
Apple mouths with honey (or peanut butter) and marshmallows!
Broom sticks made out of cheese & pretzels. Super easy and sooo adorable!!
Chocolate pudding snack, ground Oreos, Peeps ghosts and a candy pumpkin!!
Happy Halloween!!! I hope I can pull my costume off…if it ever ships! Do you know I ordered my Halloween costume 4 weeks ago, Spirit Halloween sends me an email 10 days after I order it that it is back ordered and may be 1-3 weeks before it arrives (that is past Halloween). I decide to buy the costume on Etsy which literally cost me over $100. I had to order it because Greg already had the other half. Spirit Halloween emails me on Saturday that they are sorry and the costume will not be in stock again. Can you imagine if I had waited to see if it was shipping!? I would have been out of a costume and would have had to try to make it! Um, no.
The costume still hasn’t arrived yet, though…fingers crossed! I am sure everyone already had their apple & pumpkin picking adventure. Has anyone traveled to a new farm we all need to know about??
