Ray Donovan – a home run!

Did you watch Ray Donovan last night on Showtime? I really hope so. It is worth the 60 minutes of your time, I can promise you that! TV has not been so great lately (not that I really watch it) and summer TV is the worst. Mad Men and Game of Thrones are both over for the season. Besides The Killing, there is not much on TV. BUT Showtime gave us a gem! I have always been a huge Liev Shreiber fan. I mean, besides the fact that he is so hot (lol), he is a superb actor. Last night he killed it! Between Liev, Jon Voight, Paula Malcomson (remember her from Deadwood or Hunger Games?), and Elliot Gould – show was a home run! Literally 10 minutes in, I turned to Greg and said “Here, we have the next Sopranos!”

 

I am not going to tell you much about the show except that Ray (Liev) is a “fixer”. He fixes the problems of the rich and infamous in LA. He seems to be able to fix everyone’s problems but his own. Donovan and his family relocated from Boston (a family of tough South Boston Irish Americans). Ray’s father (Jon Voight) is just released from prison five years early and making his way to LA to “get to know” his grandkids. I really don’t want to give to much away because you really need to sit down and watch the first episode. You can catch it on Demand. I promise it won’t be your last!!
