The newest addition to Town Center

I know, I know…. How many more Nail Salons does Livingston need? Well maybe just one more. Remember that store Teanacious that used to be in the Town Center? It was a hodgepodge of items that also carried Frozen Yogurt. Now it is “Livingston Nail Studio”. I am a very loyal customer to Enail. VERY. I almost felt like I was cheating on them by taking the plunge and trying out the new salon but my mother always told me to try new things. Well let’s start by saying… WOW, its HUGE! You walk into this grand foyer:

On the side are waxing rooms:

Up ahead is the desk to check in and tell them what you would like (mani, pedi, etc)….

Here you can see the menu:

You can see the gist of everything. If you are thinkig this is pricey, remember the rent in Town Center is a fortune! They have to somehow pay for their space. With that in mind, they better give one hell of a manicure and pedicure. I decided to go with a regular pedicure. I am not one of those people who can sit 2 hours in a pedicure chair. I literally like to go in and go out. I understand how people find it relaxing but I just don’t. Give me a cocktail on the beach – I am relaxed! Anyhooo… I had a pedicure first.  I realized all the people who did the services were men. I am totally okay with that as long as they are not waxing my vajayjay. (I go to someone else who I LOVE anyway, just saying..)

Fancy Pedicure Bowls:

The chairs are “in the round”

They also have a TON of colors to choose from:

I would say every Essie or OPI color you would want, they had.

So let’s discuss the pedicure. It was everything you would expect a pedicure to be. They cleaned, cut, filed and massaged my feet. I think the massage was a little too much for me only because I am ticklish and the feeling of someone massaging my toes throws me overboard.  What can I say? I will say this though, the massage is no bullshit. He kneads and presses your calves. If you like that, you will love the pedicure. The ONLY thing I missed from the process at Enail was when they put that wax stuff on the heals of your foot. The tradeoff is the massage. Oh, and my toes look fabulous! I would show you a picture but there is not a shot I am posting a picture of my ugly feet. Just take my word for it.

I am a gel girl. If I had a regular manicure, it would last 3 days MAX. The invention of the colored gel manicure is probably one of the greatest inventions in the 21st century. Therefore I can’t give you much feedback on the ” regular plain jane manicure” BUT I will certainly give you my honesty on the gel manicure at Livingston Nail Studio. I sat down and he took this out:

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful in your whole life? I literally said, “DO YOU HAVE EVERY COLOR EVER CREATED”? Not kidding, it took me 10 minutes to pick a color. First of all, look how nice they made it look. Second of all, look at the choices. Third of all, this here, this picture makes me want to go back again! It’s the silly things, I know. Also, can you see below the nails, there is the dryer underneath?  Brilliant!  No more schelping the dryer on the counter, behind the counter, on the counter. These are perfectly placed underneath the table so you can slide your hands in and out without having to move the dryer away. Simple but makes a difference.

My nails look terrific I should add. Let’s see how long they last. I normally get OPI gel but went for a Shallac color I never tried. Rumor has it the OPI lasts longer than the Shallac but he did such a good job I would be surprised if the Shallac manicure doesn’t last at least a week and 1/2. I also loved that the same man who did my pedicure also did  my manicure. I didn’t have tip 10 people. Just one, special!

If I had one complaint about the salon, it was that the guy next to the man who was doing my nails was drinking a bottle of Pepto. I wanted to tell him to please go home if he wasn’t feeling well but nobody really spoke a lick of English. I told the man I would be writing about the nail salon in my blog and he just smiled and nodded. I really wanted to get a gift card to give away but there was no shot since he had no idea why I was taking pictures or what I was doing.  Oh well. I will say your nails and toes will be fabulous though! I highly recommend the new Livingston Nail Studio and I will definitely be back!

Livingston Nail Studio, I forgot to write down the address! It’s next to where Nicole Miller used to be and where Teanacious was housed. You can’t miss it. It is in the Town Center!

The salon is elegant and the owners both work in the store. (The wife is one of the manicurists while the husband sits behind the desk and organized the work load. It was great to feel like I was in the lap of luxury and the services during July were 50% off, however, full price would be way too pricey for my budget. The owner asked if I had an appointment but most salons are tolerant of walk-ins in this area. I did get great service but I felt uncomfortable at first.
