Looking for Father’s Day Gifts? Look no further!

With my husband’s birthday coming up and Father’s Day I have been looking and looking for the perfect gift. I find it so hard to find the perfect male gift without it being related to cigars or golf…and then  I came across this website, Headlines & Heroes. Wow, am I happy I did. You cannot even imagine what is on here! I wish I had found this site 2 years ago!! I am telling you, if you read this entire article and do not find a gift for your husband/boyfriend he must be from Mars.

Okay let’s talk about some really cool and amazing apps & gadgets.  First I would like start off with some really cheap gift ideas that are great gifts from the kids.

I know it sounds kind of crazy to buy a $2.00 app as a gift but I know my husband is not looking up apps to buy on a constant basis and there are some great ones out there! Like this for example:

risealarm

This app was named one of the “Most Beautiful IOS Apps of 2012” by “The Next Web”. How does it work? It’s just a simple alarm clock but intelligently intuitive. When the alarm sounds at 5:30am, instead of having to turn off anything, all you have to do is swipe and the alarm is off or click once to give you another 5 minutes of sleep or 60! The screen color changes to reflect daytime and night time. Before going to bed, simply move your finger up and down to set a time to wake up the next morning. You can create a playlist to fall asleep to and it even tells you how many hours/minutes you have left to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night.

pogo

This app is free (I know, so it’s not really a gift) but it would be a great app to download onto “his” iPhone and surprise him. Obviously check to see if he has it first, chances are he may but if not….download it the night before Father’s Day! It’s called “Pogoseat”. It lets you know all the empty seats in a sports or music venue with the option to upgrade your seat while you’re at the event! You tell Pogoseat how many seats you’d like to upgrade and where you’re currently sitting, choose your upgrades, pay for them and your new digital tickets will be delivered right to your phone! How awesome is that!

Now for gadgets! What guy doesn’t love gadgets?

This is one of my favorite gifts I found on Headlines & Heroes. There are MANY and I really tried to narrow it down but this one is great!

case

This is called the “Keyboard Buddy Iphone 5 case”. It is a bluetooth enabled case that snaps onto the phone and allows you to type like the old Blackberry days! I have one of these for my IPad (from Logitech) and its awesome! I seriously could not live without it. ($90)

Do you have a husband/father/boyfriend who loves to exercise and keep track of his weight? This scale called the “Withings Wifi Body Scale” does more than just weigh you! It measures weight, fat mass, and BMI. The scale feeds all that information through your Iphone or wireless internet connection where you can track all your stats through a body analysis app. ($160)

iphoneprinter

How many pictures do you have on your phone that you just do not have the energy to print? Because let’s be real, who wants to sync the phone to the computer and then upload pics to IPhoto, etc? This “Iphone Photo Cube Printer” makes it so easy! All you have to do is drop the phone on top, push a few buttons, and voila! You have a 4×6 photo. I believe you can use this for your IPad as well. Great gift! ($110)

I love to give Box Sets. I think they make awesome gifts and they really are something you will keep forever. I found these below that I am definitely buying especially the ESPN one, done!

dead

HUGE DEAD FAN! HUGE! I would be ecstatic if someone bought me this and I know my husband would LOVE this!!!! “Grateful Dead: All the Years Combine”. This has 14 DVD’s! It spans from the 70’s – 90’s delivering 38 hours of their concert performances. The box set even includes one disc of 5 shows that have never-been-seen before that took place between 1987-1991.  No brainer for any dead fan! ($76)

espn

You know those awesome moment’s in sports that give you the chills? Well someone was bright enough to create this INCREDIBLE “ESPN 30 for 30 Collector Set”.  Extraordinary directors from Barry Levinson to John Singleton to rapper Ice Cube provide their unique perspective to some of the most incredible sports stories in the last 30 years. The 12-disc set includes 30 films such as “The House of Steinbrenner”, Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks, The Best that Never Was, etc. You can’t even begin to imagine what kind of gift this is to give. It is literally the perfect Father’s Day present for any man with a heart. I am 100% buying this! (Sorry Greg if you are reading this..Happy Father’s Day!) ($66)

book

I have to admit it makes me happy my husband is an avid reader. I definitely could not be married to a man who didn’t read (i.e a book). I think my father would like this book more than my husband but if you know someone out there who loved the Godfather, they will love this book. “The Family Corleone” is the prequel to the GodFather. I didn’t read it but I can basically tell you it takes place in 1933 during the Depression. Vito Corleone is focused on his family’s future and wants to insure his oldest son, Sonny, follows in his footsteps and becomes part of a real family business. But 17 year old, reckless Sonny wants something else. It is a novel of tradition, violence, loyalty and betrayal. Sounds like the Godfather, right? Well if you know a true Godfather fan who loves to read, this is the book for him! ($17)

I am sure you have seen all the grilling/BBQ things on the market. I mean how many magazines do you get in the mail with all that crap? Well I did find some good ones on here that maybe you haven’t seen yet!

therm

Okay, I will admit it my husband is king of the BBQ. His father taught him well! But I do know there are some men out there who are clueless, meaning they have no idea when to take the meat off the grill! Guess what? I found this clever little thermometer that tells you exactly when the steak is rare, medium or well done. Crazy right? How does it know? I have no idea, but it does and it will save him from an embarrassing situation when you have company and he wants to cook a perfect steak. If I am you, I am buying two of these suckers! ($20)

burger

Who doesn’t love sliders? Greatest tool ever! The Slider Mini Burger Tool set makes it simple to prepare and grill 9 mini burgers at once. The basket locks which makes it easy to flip all 9 burgers so they don’t fall out! I actually think I could use this thing. Not a bad gift for $19!

meatball

I am not sure how many people out there actually BBQ meatballs but I saw this and thought wow, easy and probably delicious! This is the “Meatball Grill Basket”. You can make up to 12 tasty, smoky balls and the basket allows excess fat to drip away.  We all know guys love their balls (no pun intended 🙂 so this may make a griller very happy!

Now, if you still haven’t found anything and you need something that every guy will love – buy him a wallet. I do not know a guy who doesn’t carry one (except for my uncle, long story) but wallets are always a great go to gift. Most guys have their wallets for like 10 years and hardly ever replace them until you start hocking them that they need a new one! So here are some nice ones:

woody

This one is called the “Zebra Bifold Wallet”. It’s made of high quality leather and 2 pieces of wood. I would say this is for the guy who carries more credit cards then cash. The wallet is definitely on the slimmer side but it does have an opening for his ID, 2 slots for his credit cards and a space behind the card slots that can also hold 3 more cards (just in case he doesn’t want to show off his black card :). ($45)

bbwal

This wallet is not the cheapest of the bunch but it could be the nicest! This is the “Coach Baseball Glove Wallet”. Whenever I think of baseball glove leather, I think of saddle leather seats in a navy Porsche. I am not really sure why but that’s where my head goes. But it only means one thing, if he can’t own the navy Porsche, let me at least buy him the wallet! They are crafted from vintage baseball gloves and each wallet is unique. ($350)

Okay, so I am about done but if after all this you still need to go the cigar route – this is my pick:

nub

For those cigar lovers, this could almost be a dream come true! I am not a cigar smoker (god that would be weird) but any cigar smoker (such as my father) would tell you there is a sweet spot you hit when smoking one. It is usually about 1/3 of the way through and it is VERY short-lived. Guess what? Sam Leccia, some guy from a cigar making family, came up with “The Nub”.  A small cigar no bigger than 4 inches that delivers the best part of the cigar or “the sweet spot”. The Nub, which is entirely handmade,  comes in a variety of flavors such as Habano, Colorado, Claro and Maduro.  While I don’t promote smoking, this is a nice Father’s Day Present for the cigar smoker in your family.($24)

All in all I think we have some winners here! Thanks to Headlines & Heroes you have made my husband’s Birthday and Father’s Day a piece of cake! I am so happy I found that website and it is definitely one I have bookmarked for future reference. Hell, I just became a subscriber!
