Have you been YouTubing?
Do not read this if you are an expert at beauty. No point. Just a waste of your time.
I am one of those girls who were never good at putting on makeup. I was never taught so I never learned. Normally when I have an event, I get my makeup done. I am not saying it in a snotty way, it’s just if I was left to my own devices I would look very low rent. Hair also. Takes me an hour to blow my hair out (its naturally curly) and after spending the hour it frizzes in 5 minutes. Hence the blow out (Thank you Troy!) Anyway I am not sure if you have been spending any time whatsoever on YouTube but I am obsessed! I find it absolutely amazing that I can learn how to do my makeup, create a gorgeous braid and even learn how to polish my nails (I can’t do that either…I know, pathetic). But seriously I came across this video on Pinterest and I cannot believe this girl has 44,000 followers on Facebook!!! 44,000 people who want/crave beauty tips. It is absolutely incredible to me. She is from Australia but most of the products she discusses you can buy in America (Bobbi Brown, Stilla, Mac, etc). I had to share this with you only because I am so fascinated with her. She takes you from her bare boned face to her gorgeous newly applied makeup makeover. Whether you are a fan of hers or not (believe me I don’t know this chick from a hole in the wall) you have to give her credit for her knowledge and expertise in applying makeup. I can’t follow all her makeup recommendations because I am a brunette and she is a blond but I am dying to try those lashes that she recommends “Red Cherry Lashes”. I looked them up and you can buy them in bulk on Amazon. Another new thing I am obsessed with lashes (oh so many blogs to write about…I have the girl in town for you!) Anyway take a peak and let me know what you think? I will say I am not a fan of all her videos but she does have some good pointers. This one happens to be the prom special (yes 20 years too late but its a good segment).
And then there are these girls, mom and daughter pair! The daughter is literally 7 and quite the model. Her mother does a lot of the braids on her daughter to show you (the viewer) how to actually do it. You must watch to see. They have an entire channel of 192 videos of hairstyles! The mother also has two more daughters (twins) Brooklyn and Bailey who do some of their own braid videos. Too bad I don’t have a daughter to practice on but I am thinking maybe a friend will lend me hers (any takers?) OR I can go and buy one of those mannequin heads the beauty schools give out to their students for practice.
and then this is the daughter Bailey’s video
I spent hours watching these videos and unfortunately I still can’t do any of the things I learned. The one thing I figured out was contouring in the first video and how to do the braids that the little girl teaches herself. I guess I will stick to letting someone else do my hair and makeup (I always love recommendations) but it’s still fun to watch and bit addicting!
Happy Weekend
